Gladys "Jody" Marie Walters, 88, of Ormond Beach, Florida, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024, surrounded by family.

Jody was the caretaker of her entire family and was loved by many. She instilled in us respect, responsibility, selflessness, love, kindness and dedication. She was a very detail-oriented person and was very proud that she chose to be a bookkeeper, her numbers were always right! They say big things come in small packages, and she proved that to be true, little, feisty, strong and mighty.  She was the backbone of our family and will be deeply missed. Fly high our little butterfly. We love you.

Jody was born in Cayenne, Indiana on December 21, 1935, to Grover C. Peak and L. Alice Peak (Bryant) and was raised on the family farm in Birdseye Indiana.

Surviving are her Daughter, Shawn Morgan: her Sisters, Delvia Kitterman (Jack), Norma Jane Liebman, Brenda Miller (Robert), Pamela Renforth (Harvey) and Donna Jaco (Floyd); her Brother, Michael Peak (Karen); her Grandchildren,  (7) Amber Maizel (Jeffrey), Danielle Morgan (James), Tyler Morgan, Shannon Cunniff (Thomas), Thomas Walters (Brittany), David Drake (Theresa), Robert "Butchie" Drake; her Great Grandchildren, (17) Monica (Damon), Emma, Hanna, Hunter , Evan, Maya, Gavin, Madisyn, Piper, Ryker, Lyra, Sydney, Callie, Lily, Charlie, Heidi and Harmony; her Great-Great Granddaughter, Ruby Melina Willings and many loved nieces and nephews.

Jody was preceded in death by her Husband, Thomas F. Walters d. 2013; her Sons, James F. Walters d. 2007 and Scott T. Walters d. 2023; her Daughter, Shannon M. Walters d. 1964; her Father, Grover C. Peak d. 1978; her Mother, L. Alice Peak d. 2006, her Sisters, Alva  "Kitty" Strickland (Ken) d. 2010, Margie McMahan (Roy) d. 2013 and her Brothers, Grover "Junior" C. Peak, Jr. d. 1950, William Peak d. 2004.
