Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Glendean (Deana) Gibson, who passed away at her home in Tavares on 4/22/25. Born in Williamson, West Virginia on 1/15/1952 and raised in Sanford, FL, Deana had a servant heart and spent most of her life caring for others. She graduated from Seminole Community College in Sanford and worked for more than 40 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. After retiring in 2018, Deana devoted herself fully to her other passions. She was a voracious reader, a talented artist, an animal lover, and a cherished friend and family member.

Deana is survived by her only daughter Ilse Dehn (Danny), Sister Alice Padgett (Larry), brother Terry Queen, and nephew Robert Padgett (Amy).

She is preceded in death by her parents Lynn and Ilse Queen, husbands Stephen Deaton and William Gibson, and nephews Charles (Chuck) Padgett and Terry Lynn (Butch) Queen Jr..

A celebration of life will be held in the  Fellowship Hall at Deana's beloved First Presbyterian Church of Eustis (FPCE) at 11a.m. on Saturday May 17, 2025. There will be a reception with light refreshments immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation to the children's ministry at FPCE.
