Obituary

After a courageous battle with cancer, Glenn William Gunzenhauser, 77, of North Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, surrounded by family. Glenn was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 6, 1947, to the late Carl and Martha (Wiedenhofer) Gunzenhauser. He graduated from Connelly Vocational High School in Pittsburgh in 1965. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany.

Glenn managed several ready-mix concrete companies in the Pittsburgh area including Mon River Supply, Donaldson Supply, Dravo Basic Materials, and Martin Marietta. He also worked at Maple Mountain Builders Surplus. Later he helped his children to resurrect Mon River Supply after 19 years of dormancy.

Glenn was a longtime resident of Ligonier, Pennsylvania and later retired to North Fort Myers, Florida. During his free time, Glenn loved to play golf, he even got a hole-in-one. He was very handy, artistic, and creative and enjoyed working on house projects, painting, and making home videos.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dee," his son, Brian Gunzenhauser (Michelle Wachter), daughter Tracy Gunzenhauser (Christopher Meredith); granddaughter, Shaylee Gunzenhauser, brother Thomas Gunzenhauser, brother Larry Gunzenhauser (Patricia), sister Marian Pitteroff; nieces, nephews, and close friends.

While he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In honoring Glenn's wishes, there will be no viewing or service.

All arrangements have been entrusted to Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society, Cape Coral, Florida.
