Glenn R. Lane, a retired engineer and resident of Deland, FL, died unexpectedly on January 3, 2017 at the age of 68.

Glenn is survived by his children, Mark Lane (Diane), Vanessa Emerson (Scott) and Tracy Lane (Freddy); his grandchildren, Zachary, Zoe, Theo, Joshua and Sara; his former wife and mother of his children, Christine Lane; his mother, Peggy Lane; his brothers Ronald and Donald Lane; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glenn was born in Ohio on January 22, 1948. He fought bravely during the Vietnam War and afterward was stationed in Germany where he met and married his wife Christine. Glenn worked and retired from Sparton Electronics.

Glenn was a devoted father and grandfather as well as an avid biker. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his many friends. He was known for his cheerful disposition and was always quick to offer a smile and a helping hand to friends and strangers alike. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.  His friends are planning a memorial motorcycle ride in his honor on his birthday, January 22nd.
