MEHALICK Glenn Robert Mehalick, 74, of Edgewater, FL, passed away of natural causes on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Florida Hospital (Bert Fish), New Smyrna Beach. Glenn was born on January 7, 1943 in Staten Island, New York to Joseph J. Mehalick and Olga DelWit Mehalick. Glenn attended Tottenville High School in Staten Island. He was a US Navy Veteran having served from 1962 to 1966 overseas on the Henry W. Tucker, US Naval Destroyer. He lived in Old Bridge, Mount Holly, Jackson and Bayville, New Jersey before relocating to Edgewater, Florida in 2004. He was a member of Amvets Post 2, Dolphin Athletic Club and former member of the the American Legion Post 285, all in Edgewater, FL. He retired as a computer programmer. Glenn lived his life full of vim and vigor and was always up for a party and a good time. He was known for his wit and humor and he was a die-hard NY Jets fan. His favorite go-to Karaoke song was "Mack the Knife" as well as anything by Frank Sinatra, but he really loved his Doo-Wop. He was an avid beach-goer and loved boating, fast cars and traveling. Glenn loved life and he lived it to the fullest, but most of all he loved his family and friends. Glenn is survived by his wife, Helyn Marie (nee Paskevic), whom he married on January 9, 1998 in Costa Rica; his daughter, Danielle Mehalick DeStefano, Brick, NJ; son, Michael Mehalick, Indian Harbor Beach, FL; his sister, JoAnn Mehalick Lindemann, Rumson, NJ; grandsons, Nicholas, Anthony and Joseph DeStefano, Brick, NJ; granddaughters, Sierra and Raina Mehalick, Indian Harbor Beach, FL; niece, Vanessa Coyte, Point Pleasant, NJ; nephew, Wesley Coyte, Stuart, FL; and great-nephew, Brody Coyte. On Saturday, June 3, 2017, an Honor Guard Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM at Veterans' Memorial Park, 1811 So. Riverside Drive, Edgewater, followed by his Burial At Sea by the US Coast Guard at 11:30 AM, New Smyrna Beach (family only) and a Celebration of Life (repast) at the Dolphin Athletic Club, 2120 So. Ridgewood Ave, #4, Edgewater at 1:30 PM, which all are invited to attend.
