Gloria
Bellmany
January 17, 1948 – March 26, 2026
New Bethel AME Church
11:00 am - 12:00 pm (Eastern time)
Gloria Jean Bellmany, the beloved daughter of Minnie L. and James R. Carter Sr., was born on January 17, 1948, in Winter Park, Florida. Gloria answered the call of her Heavenly Father on March 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Gloria was an active and faithful member of Growth International Ministries and Messiah’s International House of Prayer. She lived a life rooted in faith, service, and love for others.
Gloria was married to her devoted husband, George Bellmany, for more than fifty years. Together, they raised three sons: Philemon, Jonathan, and Joshua. She also took great joy in supporting George Jr., Rhonda, and Juanita. As a mother, Gloria worked diligently to instill in her children a love and reverence for God, a commitment to wellness, and a heart of gratitude for His many blessings.
Her loving nature extended beyond her family to friends and even strangers. Gloria carried herself with excellence in all she did and remained deeply committed to Kingdom building. She was well known for her joyful greeting: “I’m blessed and highly favored of the Lord.”
In 1997, Gloria was ordained into Christian ministry. She earned degrees from Crosslands Bible College and Clowning Ministry College and served faithfully in many roles, including bus captain, Sunday school teacher, spiritual ambassador for Winter Park Hospital, crusader for Christ, and prayer ministry leader. She also established a 24-hour prayer line to serve her community.
In 2008, Gloria and her husband co-founded Messiah’s International House of Prayer, a ministry devoted to seeking the Father’s will under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the authority of Jesus Christ. Her dedication to service extended both locally and globally.
—Jesus loves you—
“Pray about everything”
She commissioned a motor home for outreach, transformed her backyard into a prayer garden for the community, and traveled on prayer missions across Florida, all fifty states, and eleven countries—including three cherished visits to her favorite destination, Israel.
One of Gloria’s most unique and impactful ministries was her work as “Charity” the clown. For over 30 years, she shared the love of Jesus through storytelling, face painting, balloon artistry, and optical illusions. Her transformation into Charity the Clown brought joy, hope, and the message of Christ to people of all ages.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, James R. Carter Sr. and Minnie L. Carter, and her siblings Isaiah S. Bailey, Timothy Carter, and Pandora C. Taylor.
She is survived by her devoted husband, George Bellmany (Altamonte Springs, FL); her sons, Philemon E. Bellmany (Apopka, FL), husband of Devin; Jonathan O. Bellmany (Casselberry, FL), husband of Tamika; and Joshua N. Bellmany (Riverview, FL), husband of Sade.
Her grandchildren Brielle, Aiden, Jaylen, Eden, Calleigh, Samaria, Joshua Jr., Shiloh, Sabari, George, Crystal, Genesis, and Chantel; and her great-grandchildren Siyah, Naomi-Symone, Jeremiah, Imani-Grace, Joshua, D’rosi, and Jaliya.
She is also survived by her siblings James Carter (Orlando, FL), husband of Carolyn; Betty Night (Orlando, FL), wife of J. Night; and Silver D. Law (Orlando, FL), wife of Maurice; her goddaughter Yelda Badall (Orlando, FL); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
—God’s grace is sufficient—
