It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Gloria (Moneypenny) Petersen. She died in the late morning of January 11, 2024.

She was born on January 5, 1943, in St. Johns, Newfoundland to the parents of James Moneypenny, Sr. and Clara (Carter) Moneypenny. In 1953 the family moved to the United  States where they became United States citizens. The family settled in New York.

She is predeceased in death by her parents James and Clara Moneypenny, her brother, Robert Moneypenny and her husband Robert William Petersen.

Gloria is survived by her children, Robert, Edward, James and Gail (Petersen) Vilasi and Gail's husband Bob who was like a son to our Mom.

Gloria is also survived by six grandchildren, James, Jessica, Michael, Christine, Tyler, and Jesse as well as 11 great grandchildren.

Gloria's lifelong passion was nursing. She became Home Health Care Aide, where she was a wonderful care giver to all of her patients.

She was also an avid animal lover who loved her Shihtzu dogs, Poohbah, Max and Marley.

She will never be forgotten for her genuine compassion and love for her family and friends.
