Gordon Albert Newman, 92, passed away at the Edgewater Hospice Care Center on February 7, 2021.  The son of Albert Newman and Augusta Gritzke Newman, he was born and raised in Buffalo, New York.

He graduated from Kensington High School and spent two years in the Army, serving in Japan and the Philippines.  He worked as a project engineer for Curtiss Wright Corporation before moving his family to Florida in 1962.  He settled in New Smyrna Beach and was an engineer at Martin Marietta at the Cape until retiring in 1988.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Barbara, four daughters, Linda (Frank) Ward, of Lake Mary, Nancy (Chris) Stubbs of Enterprise, Valerie Newman of Port Orange, and Laurie Lintereur of Melbourne, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of New Smyrna Beach.

There will be a private service for family only at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Halifax Health Hospice, Southeast care Center or the First Presbyterian Church of New Smyrna Beach.
