Gordon Willet Smith, aged 89, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in Warwick, Rhode Island, during August of 1935, he lived a full life with friends and family throughout New Hampshire and Florida. Gordon dedicated his life to his late wife, Janice, and three children, Gregory, Melissa, and Richard. A proud Army veteran, his actions spoke louder than words and he was truly the foundation of their family.

Whether it was snowmobiling, water skiing, sailing, camping, or just walking through the park with his beloved Janice, he could always be found enjoying the outdoors. Over the years he also played an important role in numerous rocket launches and the space shuttle program.

A celebration of Gordon's life will be held later this year. His legacy will continue to inspire those honored enough to have known him. The family suggests that those wishing to honor Gordon's memory do so with a donation to Community Hospice, in recognition of the gentle care and comfort they provide.
