IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Grandle
Starling
June 24, 1940 – March 11, 2026
Grandle Starling, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family.
Born on June 24, 1940, in Moniac, Georgia, Grandle grew up with strong values that would guide him throughout his life. In 1959, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps, an experience that shaped his discipline, resilience, and sense of duty.
Following his military service, Grandle became a well-known and respected member of the Volusia County community as the owner and operator of Starling’s Chevron. Through years of service, he built lasting relationships with customers and friends alike. Later, he continued his working career at the Daytona Beach Golf and Country Club, where he eventually retired.
Above all, Grandle was a family man. He shared over 60 loving years of marriage with his wife, Charlotte Starling, a testament to their enduring bond and commitment. He was a proud father to his sons, Randall and the late Jeffrey Starling, who preceded him in death in 1999. Continuing a family tradition of service, both of his sons also served in the United States Marine Corps.
He was a cherished grandfather to Crystal Gurall and a loving great-grandfather to Amelya Gurall, Adylee Gurall, and Aryana Gurall, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Grandle will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on April 2, 2026 at his home in South Daytona, Florida.
