With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Greg Ewing on Friday, June 26, 2026, surrounded by his family. Greg retained his sense of humor and easy going personality despite a recent diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia and pancreatic cancer. Greg was born on October 1, 1956 to Howard and Rosie Ewing in Mansfield, Ohio.

Greg was a 1975 graduate of Crestview High School. His career in the plastic plating industry spanned Ohio, Indiana and Michigan before his retirement in 2021. Quick witted, Greg had a way with words, making him the life of the party, the person everyone gravitated toward. His favorite way to pass time was rocking in his chair, cold drink in hand, listening to his classic rock albums and sharing all he knew about them with anyone who would listen.

Greg was a devoted husband to his wife Becky Panyard Ewing for nearly 40 years, his children Jennifer “Jenny” Ewing, Amanda (Brad) Braman and Dustin (Tera) Ewing and he was Poompa to his six grandchildren, William Hummel, Nathan Hummel. Cole Braman, Natalie Braman, Everett Ewing and Adalyn Ewing. He is also survived by his sister Susie Garrison and his brother Mike Ewing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Barbara “Perky” Garrison and his brother Howard “Snuffy” Ewing.

A celebration of Greg’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember him.

Though his absence leaves a deep void, his love, humor and passion for music will remain with his family and friends in the years to come.
