Obituary

Gregory Earl Hurley, (77), of Ormond Beach Florida passed away surrounded by his wife and daughters on September 21, 2024. Greg was born July 4, 1947, in Williamson, West Virginia to Earl James and Sylvia Faye Hurley.

Greg graduated from Williamson High School (W. Va) in 1965 where he was in the orchestra, played basketball and baseball. He would later be inducted into their high school Hall of Fame. Greg played 2 years of baseball at Morehead State before joining the Marines and serving in the Vietnam war. Greg married Cindy on January 1, 1970, and they lived in Huntington West Virginia before moving to Florida where he started his career in the car business. Greg would later retire from Cadillac. When his daughters were growing up, he coached and followed while they played softball and golf. All while sharing his love for music (from Motown, Gospel, Country, and Beach Music). One of their favorites together will always be "Stagger Lee". Greg and Cindy loved to dance, cruise and travel with friends. He was known for his style with clothes, shoes, and dance moves. Greg was also a big FSU fan……. Go Noles!!

Greg is proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Cindy, daughter, Heather Osborne of Cornelius, NC, daughter and son-in-law Hilary and Andy Burrow of Clinton Mississippi. Grandchildren, Riley Osborne, Blake Osborne, Parker Burrow, Presleigh Burrow, Palmer Burrow, and Preston Burrow. Brother Spike Hurley (Rita) of Kentucky, brother-in-law, Ed Wilson (Carol) of Richmond, Virginia. Plus many aunts, uncles, niece, nephews and dear friends.

Greg was a 32nd Degree Mason of Kenova, West Virginia and a member of Beni-Keden Shrine in Charleston, West Virginia. He was also a member of the Ormond Beach Elk Lodge, the Daytona Beach Moose Lodge 1263, American Legion Post 267, and Tomoka Christian Church.

A church service will be held at 10 AM on October 3, 2024, at Tomoka Christian Church and a military salute will follow at the American Legion at 12:00. Then the family will travel to the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery for a final service at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Shriners Hospital or Saint Jude in Greg's memory.
