Hardin
Tucker
April 24, 2022
Hardin Alfred Tucker, 84, of Ocala, FL, left this earth and all who loved him on Sunday, April 24, 2022. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ in 1938. Hardin is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Tucker, 2 daughters from a previous marriage; Gina Hansen and Jodi. Tuck, as everyone knew him, was a generous and kind man who would do anything for someone. He joined the Navy at age 18 and spent 4 years at sea on the Aircraft Carrier USS Coral Sea, and then 4 years in the Reserves. He was a long distance truck driver for over 30 years. Tuck was a volunteer fireman for several years in Freehold, NJ. He worked for Mobile Oil, and Mid West Emery with is own truck. He was a man of extraordinary talents and did everything to perfection. There was magic in his hands. He would say he was reincarnated, when he did building or carpentry he did things the way they were done 100 years ago. In Fayetteville, NC he restored historic houses to original. He could do anything in carpentry, plumbing, roofing, and even made tin shingles on historic homes. While living in Jamaica, West Indies, he built a stone house on a cliff 65 feet up from the sea including 110 steps down to the sea. In Jamaica, he hand picked cedar wood to dry, then made raised panel cabinet doors and interior doors all with an arch. He worked for the Jamaica Grande Hotel in Ocho Rios during the 8 years of living there. He served on the Marion County Commissioners Dog Classification Board for several years. He loved his Dobermans and Cats above all and trained for Obedience and Therapy for over 40 years. He is dearly missed here as they are lost without him. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Marion County Humane Society or Doberman Rescue Unlimited in New Hampshire. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
