IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harriet
Burkhalter
June 5, 1956 – September 21, 2023
Harriet Haines Burkhalter, 67, of Edgewater, FL, passed away on September 21, 2023 after a long fought battle with ALS. She was an adored mother, wife, and Gigi; cherishing her time spent with her husband Steve, their three daughters, and grandchildren. Steve and Harriet spent 49 loving years together, and Harriet's legacy will live on through the family they created.
Outside of Harriet's full-time devotion to her family, she had a passion for gardening, antiquing, and interior design, spending countless hours working in her beautiful yard and on her orchids, and on her impeccably decorated home. Harriet was the matriarch of the family, always baking and cooking for Sunday family dinner. Harriet enjoyed coordinating any and all parties and holidays down to the very last details.
Harriet is survived by her husband Steven Burkhalter, daughters Lauren Burkhalter (David Welsh), Whitney Bounds (Hunter), Caroline Templeton (Eric), and grandchildren Isla Ricigliano, Carson Belle Templeton, Rhett Welsh, and Woods Templeton, sister-in-law Sally Shaffer (Lindy), niece Megan Fabrega (Carlos), great nephews Carlos Jr and Evan, nephew John Aldridge, and her cherished Ragdoll cat, Miu Miu. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Harriet Haines, and her in-laws, Bob and Betty Burkhalter.
A family service will be held privately to honor Harriet's life. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
In memory of Harriet, donations can be made to the Anglers Scholarship Fund c/o Belote & Assoc. CPAs, located at 350 N Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32169.
And I heard a voice from Heaven saying, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Blessed indeed," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!" Revelation 14:13
May Harriet's sweet soul rest in eternal peace.
