Jon, 86, Born July 12, 1937, died September 17, 2023.
He was the third of four sons born to John and Ann (Volk) Flynn, in Camden NI. John (lack), George Bud), Harry and William (Bi), were all named after their uncles, That is why Harry always signed his name as Harry I, Flynn. He attended school at Glassboro State Teachers college where he learned many skills. He lived at home with his parents, and they eventually moved to Cape May, NI, He and his mother moved to Florida to live with his brother George in 1980. He was close to his beloved Philadelphia Phillies team and saw many games on their winter schedule. His love for the game lasted his entire life He also loved John Wayne movies, Trains, and Music. He was adept at certain crafts and jigsaw puzzles Each day included music and puzzles for many years. He was fascinated by red cars, especially fast red cars, and always wanted a red VI Beetle. Disney was on the schedule at least once a year where he had a scheduled routine he followed. The Creative Caregiving program was a very important part of his life for the past several years. The camaraderie, crafts, and especially the music therapy helped to make his life a little better. He found a home at St. Peter the Fisherman Episcopal Church, where he was welcomed with open arms and loving hearts,
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jack and George.
He is survived by his Sister-in-law Susan Flynn who was his caretaker for many years, Brother Bill (Merrie), Nephew Michael Flynn (Ann), Aunt Patricia Volk, and many cousins.
His cheerful spirit and infectious smile will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will take place on September 29, 2023, 1 PM at St. Peter The Fisherman Church, New Smyrna Beach.
