Harvey Conklin
Hilton
August 11, 1942 – May 23, 2026
Harvey Conklin Hilton, 83, of Miromar Lakes, FL, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026. Born on August 11, 1942, in East Hampton, Connecticut, the son and oldest child of June (Conklin) and Merritt Hilton. Harvey grew up in the small New England town of Easthampton, CT that shaped his lifelong love of family, history, and the wider world. Harvey shared a remarkable life of adventure with his beloved wife, Arlynn Cagan Hilton. Together, they traveled the world, visiting more than one hundred countries and gathering a lifetime of stories, photographs, and friendships along the way. From distant continents to quiet corners of the map, Harvey approached every journey with the same warmth, curiosity, and good humor that defined him at home. He was known for his beautiful smile that could light up a room.
Closer to home, Harvey could often be found on the tennis court, a sport he played and loved throughout his life. He also had a deep passion for genealogy, patiently tracing the threads of his family’s story across generations. That passion led him to membership in the The Mayflower Society, of which he was an executive Board member, and The Sons of the American Revolution. Two of his ancestors were passengers on the Mayflower.
Harvey was an exceptional family historian, and often found previously unknown extended family members, bringing people together. Additionally, he diligently traced the family ancestry for many friends and acquaintances. He had over 300 trees on Ancestry.com. Harvey was also a puzzle enthusiast, and especially loved Sudoku and Wordle.
Harvey was the devoted father of two sons: Jay Hilton, of Storrs, Connecticut, who preceded him in death, and Chadford Hilton, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He took enormous pride in his four grandchildren — Samuel Hilton (18) and Leigh Hilton (17); and Patrick Hilton Harvey (21) and Abigail Hilton (18). To each of them, he was a steady and loving presence: a teller of stories, a keeper of family history, and a grandfather whose pride in them was undeniable.
He is survived by his loving wife, Arlynn Cagan Hilton; his son, Chadford Hilton; his loving sisters, Beverly Dickinson, Nancy Banker, and Kimberly Watson; his four grandchildren, Samuel, Leigh, Patrick, and Abigail; his two daughters-in-law, Laura Hilton and Yvonne Hilton; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Harvey was fiercely loved and will be dearly missed by family and friends from all over the world.
