With heavy heart, we announce the passing of Heather Higgs, who departed this world at the young age of 50, on September 16, 2024, peacefully in her home in Daytona Beach, FL. After bravely enduring the challenges of cancer her body could no longer withstand the treatments. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Bethany Gwen Lincecum Holmes.

Heather is survived by her son, Thomas Higgs, and her grandson, Julian Michael Higgs. She also leaves behind her sister, Michelle Lynn Back, and her niece and nephew, Shane Ritter and Shai Pearcy (Kazra).

Heather's life was marked by her deep struggles with mental illness and addiction, but also by her profound generosity and empathy. She had a boundless love for people and a zest for life, even when her journey led her down difficult roads. Despite the many challenges she faced, Heather's heart was always open, eager to extend kindness to those in need, even when it was hard for her to care for herself.

Heather's legacy is a reminder of the power of compassion and the importance of understanding. Her generous spirit touched many, and she will never be forgotten by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
