On July 15, 2022, Hedwig "Heddie" Julia George left us to "tickle the ivories" forever in heaven on her baby grand. Heddie was born June 2, 1922.She married our father, James E George, and together they raised 6 boys and 3 girls in Berkley, Michigan where they resided until December 2020.Managing a family of 11 like a tight ship, she still found time to play her piano, tap dance (beginning at age 67) and join Jim in long distance bicycling well into her 80s.And how many 70 year olds do you know that had a paper route?

Heddie celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by her family.A party she described as "Nice…Cheap, and nice. It's just nice. Just like going to a bar to have a drink". Classic Heddie!

God love her. That's our Mom.

But "wait, wait, just a minute, wait" (another Heddie classic). We are so thankful that our Mom raised us to be loving, responsible and independent children, all with a great sense of humor.

We are also extremely grateful for the patience and care provided for her at her residence at Lady Lake Senior Living (formerly Atria), Lady Lake, FL and the compassion and kindness of Vitas Hospice.

Heddie was preceded in death by her youngest daughter Julie , who was in her loving care for 42 years.She is survived by her loving, patient husband, Jim and her children Marcy (Michael) Weinberg, Leonard (Darlene) George, Jim George, Jerry (Sue) George, Jack (Judy) George, Peggy (Richard) Clarke, John ( Wendy) George, and Jeff (Joanna) George and addition to 18grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
