Helen Marie
Brandstetter Tomaszewski
Mar 30, 1950 — Sep 16, 2026
Helen Marie Brandstetter Tomaszewski, lovingly known as Helen, passed away on September 16, 2026. She was born on March 30, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and later made her home in Winter Springs, Florida.
Helen was a truly unique woman. She had her own way of looking at the world and was never afraid to go against the flow. She believed in thinking for herself, doing things her own way, and seeing life from a perspective that was uniquely hers. She had a wonderful curiosity about the world and was never afraid to question what she heard or consider that there might be more to a story than met the eye.
Helen loved beautiful things. She had an appreciation for art, jewelry, gemstones, and anything that sparkled. She loved decorating for the holidays and filling her home with the things she loved. What some might have called clutter made her home feel warm and lived-in. It was filled with color, memories, treasures, and pieces of her personality. Her home often smelled of pumpkin spice or something fruity, and there was always candy in a dish.
A lifelong lover of nature, Helen cherished her garden and orchids and enjoyed spending time simply puttering around in the yard. She was also a Master Gardener and found joy in caring for the things she grew. Her Shih Tzus were another special part of her life, and she loved having her dogs by her side.
Helen earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and worked as an elementary school teacher. Through her career and her life, she touched the lives of many people with her individuality, curiosity, and warmth.
Above all, Helen loved her family deeply. She is survived by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Tomaszewski; her children, Andrew Tate, Jacquelyne Schneck, Ashley Swindell, and Tina Tomaszewski; her sister, Dian Weeks, and brother-in-law, Art Weeks; her brother, Richard Brandstetter, and sister-in-law, Lori Brandstetter; as well as her extended family and loved ones.
Helen’s faith was an important part of her life. Above all, she loved God. Her faith was real, and she walked with God throughout her life. Her family finds comfort in believing that her life here was not the end of her story and that she is now with her Lord.
Helen will be remembered for her individuality, her curiosity, her love of beautiful things, her garden, her dogs, her family, and all the little things that made her unmistakably Helen. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
