Celebration of Life for Helen M. Kennedy, 84, of New Smyrna Beach who died Monday, June 01, 2009 will be held Saturday, June 6 at 11:30AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church with Father John S. Murray, Pastor of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church officiating.  Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill, NJ.   Helen was born in Pennsauken, New Jersey. She worked for many years as a bank teller before retiring to Florida in 2005. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, crocheting and listening to music.   She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Carol (G. Fred) Herdel of New Smyrna Beach, a son Thomas (Elaine) Kennedy of Gettysburg, PA, grandchildren, G. Fred (Jennifer) Herdel, MD of New Smyrna Beach, Daneen (Scott) Fretz of Pawley's Island, SC, Drew (Holly) Kennedy of New Braunfels, TX, Amanda Kennedy of Baltimore, MD, great-grandchildren Brendan Herdel, Zachary Fretz, Colby Fretz, Ryan Herdel, and cousin Ruth Stratton of Haddon Heights, NJ.   The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Sterling House in Port Orange and Odyssey Hospice. Services scheduled are private for the family.
