After a courageous 15-year battle with breast cancer, followed by stage 4 bone cancer, Helga Anna Battle, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, at Tavares Cornerstone Hospice House, surrounded by loved ones. She was 77.
Born on November 8, 1947, in Ettlingen, Germany, Helga was a proud naturalized U.S. citizen as of 1988. She earned her Associate's Degree in Accounting and a Certificate in Office Support Technology.
Helga touched the lives of those around her with strength, resilience, and unwavering love and spirit. Helga remained a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her. She lived her life to the fullest and especially enjoyed spending time with her loved ones—family, friends, and her beloved dog, Riley.
She was a devoted member of Kingdom Purpose Ministries in Mount Dora, Florida, and a cherished part of the Senior Center of Leesburg, FL. She was passionate about sewing, crocheting, reading, traveling, going to the beach and parks, and watching her favorite TV shows.
She is survived by her loving daughter Angela Battle, her granddaughter Angel Battle, and her brother Jurgen Gosch of Germany.
Helga was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Eric Battle Jr., her former husband Kenneth Battle Sr., her parents Otto Gosch Sr. and Anna Moessinger, and siblings Inge Haustein, Otto Gosch Jr., and Wolfgang Gosch, all of Germany.
A celebration of Helga's life will be held on April 12th, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Kingdom Purpose Ministries, 1881 Washington Blvd, Mount Dora, FL 32757. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Angela & Angel Battle at 1870 Washington Blvd, Mount Dora, FL 32757.
Helga lived her life to the fullest, radiating love and kindness to everyone she met. Although she is no longer with us, her spirit and memory will continue to live in our hearts forever.
