Life Celebration for Henry Slagter, New Smyrna Beach FL who died Saturday, April 4, 2015 will be 10:00 AM Thursday at New Smyrna Beach Church of God Paige Avenue. Burial will follow at Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 to 7PM at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place 1 North Causeway New Smyrna Beach. Henry was born in Wildervank, Netherlands and came to this area in 1949 from Muskegan, MI. He served in both the Army in WWII as a radioman in the 486th Batallion Spearhead Division and Navy aboard the USS Diphda in Korea. He retired from the New Smyrna Utilities Commission. Survivors include two sons Gary Slagter of Port Orange and Jeffrey Slagter of New Smyrna Beach, grandchildren Christina LaBombard, Angelia Slagter, Kevin Slagter, and six great grandchildren.
