Hilda “Poochi” Hartman
July 25, 1942 – September 12, 2026
Hilda “Poochi” Hartman, 84, passed away on September 12, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family and circle of friends who will miss her dearly.
Poochi grew up in Kenmore, New York, and dedicated much of her professional life to nursing. As a Registered Nurse, her career focused primarily on nursing administration and education, allowing her to share her knowledge and experience with others throughout the years.
After retirement, Poochi made her home in The Villages, Florida, with her beloved husband, Cary Mihok, who preceded her in death in February 2010. Cary was deeply loved not only by Poochi, but by her entire family, and the years they shared together in The Villages brought them many happy memories.
Poochi had a wonderful sense of adventure and lived life on her own terms. She loved playing golf, reading, playing cards, meeting new people, and spending time with family and friends. Never one to let age slow her down, she continued riding her motorcycle well into her 70s—a fitting reflection of her independent and adventurous spirit.
She also had a very special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Abby, her faithful companion who brought her tremendous comfort and joy. Poochi was the proud mother of four children: Danette Dippert (Harold Fraleigh), Holly Dippert, Kevin Dippert, and John Dippert. She was a loving grandmother to Raeanne Hoyt (William), Whitney Schwartz (Ethan), Riley Dippert, and Avery Dippert, and a cherished great-grandmother to Lian and CJ Hoyt.
More than anything, Poochi will be remembered for the life she lived, the friendships she made, and the countless stories and memories she leaves behind. Her independence, adventurous spirit, and unmistakable personality made her uniquely Poochi, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 1:30–4:30 p.m. at Glenview Country Club in The Villages, Florida. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life well lived. Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449. Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com.
