It is with great sadness and disbelief that we announce the sudden passing of Humberto (Berto) Viera of Fort Myers, FL on May 21st, 2023, at the age of 53.

He was our beloved Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend.

He is preceded in death by his Father William Viera-Velazquez.

Berto is survived and will be remembered by his former wife of 22 years; Margarita (Margie) Martinez and their son Cristian Gabriel Viera of FL. He will also be greatly missed by his Mother; Maria (Carmen) Velazquez of IN and Siblings; William Viera-Velazquez (Jr) of IN, Madeline Viera-Velazquez of IN, Edwin Viera-Velazquez of IN, Celenia (Paul) Schmitt of FL, Eric Viera-Velazquez (Maribel Alvarez) of IN and Melissa (Frank A.) Chabes Jr. of IN as well as many nephews and nieces.

Humberto (Berto) Viera was born in Gary, IN on February 13th, 1970, and graduated from Wirt High School in 1988. He moved to Miami Florida in 1989 and ultimately moved to Fort Myers and started his career with the United States Post Office in May 2000 and has worked there for the last 23 years.

Berto was a great person and he loved and cared for everyone around him whether it was his family, friends, or co-workers. We will forever keep you in our hearts and you will never be forgotten. Love you!

A visitation in Florida will be held 7:00-9:00 pm on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home; 4320 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, Fl 33966.

Following the visitation in Florida, the family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Rees Funeral Home; 5341 Central Ave, Portage, IN 46368 on Friday June 2nd, from 2:00 pm-8:00pm with a service starting at 6:00 pm. Pastor Juaquin Rodriguez will officiate.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, June 3rd at Rees Funeral Home. Interment at Calvary Cemetery at 2701 Willowdale Rd, Portage, IN to follow immediately after.
