Irene Prior Campbell, 95, passed away on June 11, 2016 at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange, Florida surrounded by family.

Irene was born March 8, 1921 in Swansea, Wales, to Archibald Prior and Mary Andrewartha Prior.  In 1928, she came to Youngstown, Ohio where she graduated from Youngstown School of nursing in 1942 . She married Robert Scott Campbell in 1944. She went on to become an elementary teacher, principal, and county supervisor for Mahoning County Schools in Ohio. Upon retirement, in 1981, she moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

She will be remembered for her generous spirit and thoughtfulness with family and friends. She always welcomed people into her home where she loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed creating beautiful works of art in a variety of media which she shared with loved ones.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Robert Scott Campbell. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved sister, Gwen Szent-Gyorgyi of Woods Hole, MA and three children Robert (Linda) Campbell of New Smyrna, Carol ( Leslie) Habel of Stuarts Draft, VA  and William ( Ginny) Campbell of Boone,NC., seven grandchildren, Dawn Dirks, John Habel, Mary Kay Campbell, Jennifer Goldstein, Robert Campbell, Jessica Beckner and Tabitha Laney-Bryant and fourteen great-grandchildren.
