Jack Edward Dean, Sr. passed from this life to be with God on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the age of 79. Born in Meridian, MS he moved to DeLand in 1941. A 1956 graduate of DeLand High School, he served in the US Army and later received a B.A. from Stetson University and a M.Div. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a teacher at both Sacred Heart Catholic School, New Smyrna Beach and at Southwestern Middle School, Deland for many years. "Senior" was blessed with a beautiful voice and a sharp mind. He loved classical music, reading, magnolia trees, dogs, track & field, soccer, auto racing and his family. His greatest comfort in life was his faith in Jesus Christ. He is survived by his brothers Robert and Charles, daughter Elizabeth Beauchamp and sons Jack, David, Brent and their families.
