Jack T. Lawrence II
Jack Terrell Lawrence II (66), of South Daytona, FL passed away peacefully October 2, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family, friends, and VITAS Team 222.
Jack was born on August 23, 1950, in Ashtabula, OH to Jack and Ruth (Maloney) Lawrence. Jack's family relocated to New Smyrna Beach, FL in 1966.
After relocating to New Smyrna Beach, Jack attended New Smyrna Beach Senior High School, then graduated from Mainland High School in 1969. Jack spent many years working in a variety of local and state automotive industry jobs. His passions were drag racing, Harley-Davidson motorcycles and Doo Wop music. A proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard Reserves, Jack served with distinction in the Gulf War while stationed in Al Jabail, Saudi Arabia. A Master Mason for 39 years, he served in line for his lodge, Mokanna No. 329, F.& A.M., Orlando, FL.
He was predeceased in death by his father, Jack T. Lawrence I, and his daughter Melanie R. Dixon. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 6 years, June (Etter) Lawrence; mother Ruth M. Elmore; sisters Michele Kasler (Karl) and Stephanie Kretschmar (Robert); his children, Jack Lawrence III (Cindy); Christopher Lawrence (Tanisha); Daniel Lawrence; Amber Sexton-Hurd; Kevin Lawrence (Amanda); step-daughter Danielle Oswald (Brian); grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A committal service with full military honors will occur at a later date at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.in Mims, Florida.
