IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacqueline Ann
Heaton
December 2, 1944 – May 27, 2025
Jacqueline Ann Heaton, age 80 of Ocala, Florida passed away at the Cates House Hospice of Marion County on May 27, 2025.
A former long time Massachusetts resident, she was born in Ottumwa, Iowa to Roland and Doris LaBrie. A graduate of Auburn High School, she received her RN diploma from Worcester Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing, BSN from Assumption College, and MSN from Anna Maria College. She held numerous positions at UMASS Memorial Health Care and ended her nursing career as the Director of Nursing at Cape Regency on Cape Cod. She was a member of The Massachusetts Organization of Nurse Executives and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.
She was an avid reader who often read several books at once, especially those of historical fiction, in particular World War II, and the American Civil and Revolutionary Wars. Jackie loved spending time with her granddaughters, traveling to foreign countries, and enjoying a fine meal. Genealogy kept her busy many days as did the occasional card game and daily word puzzles.
Jacqueline is survived by her loving husband of 57 years and high school sweetheart, Bruce Heaton, a daughter Elizabeth, and her two granddaughters, Kelly and Eliza Grace, as well as her two brothers-in-law, Kevin O'Toole and Richard Pierce, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by both of her parents as well as by her three siblings, Diane, Roger, and Rosemary.
Per her wishes, private funeral services with her family will be held following cremation. If you choose to honor Jackie's legacy of nursing care, the family suggests that contributions be made to Hospice of Marion County ( www.hospiceofmarion.com ). "Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. May you rest in peace forever."
