Jacquelyn (Jackie) LeVasseur Gabor Dailey, age 89, widow of Charles Dailey passed away on May 12, 2025, surrounded by her family's love. Jackie was born on April 2, 1936, in Bristol Ct, daughter of Leo and Marguerite (Blair) LeVasseur. In 1995, she and her husband, Charlie, moved from Trumbull Connecticut to Port Orange, Florida.
Jackie was a graduate of Stratford High School and University of Bridgeport. She was a dedicated teacher, having taught 5th grade for over 20 years at Live Oaks and John F. Kennedy Elementary Schools in Milford, Connecticut. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Port Orange and served as both a volunteer and coordinator of the Parish Outreach Ministry's Food Pantry.
After her husband's passing Jackie fulfilled a lifelong dream by joining the Peace Corp at age 63. She served in Jordan from 2004 – 2006 and remained close to many of the volunteers she served with and the family she lived with.
Jackie and Charlie loved to travel; Paris was one of their favorite places. Jackie continued to travel with friends and family after returning from Jordan.
Jackie had a kind and caring heart and will be remembered by her family for her apple pie, chocolate chip cookies, Daytona Beach vacations, world travel and loud, large Christmas Eve gatherings.
Jackie's survivors include her devoted sons, Charles J. Gabor Jr. and his wife Carole, and James Gabor and his wife Diane, cherished grandchildren Daniel Gabor, Alexis Weinstein (Larry), Amanda Marshal (TJ), Nicholas Gabor (Natoiya), Erica Benson (Mat) and Rebecca Pezza (Jesse) and her beloved extended family Rose Marie Malyska and her husband Ron, Diane Haydu and her husband Jim, Michael Dailey and his wife MaryAnn, Erin Bedoya, Brian Corcoran, Ron Malyska (Sarah), Liane Brink (Steven), Ryan Dailey (Lisa ), Micheal
Dailey (Amanda) and Patrick Dailey and 13 great grandchildren, whom she greatly enjoyed spending time with. Additionally, Jackie is survived by her sister Margaret (Peggy) Liscinsky and her nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jackie also leaves behind many good and close friends that he enjoyed spending time with over the years.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale West Ormond Beach and the staff of Halifax Hospice Port Orange and Ormond Beach, especially Ebony, Kelly and Tina, for the wonderful care they provided Jackie in her final weeks.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday May 27, 2025, at 8:30 am at Our Lady of Hope Church, Port Orange Florida. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Stratford Connecticut.
