James Claud Bailey (Jim) 83, formerly of Aiken, SC passed away peacefully on April 16 at the American House in Bonita Springs, Fl. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia C. Bailey for 25 years.

Born in Tuckerman, Arkansas, Jim was the son of the late Claud W. Bailey and Grace Lee Bailey.

Jim retired from the Vermont Correctional Facility in Woodstock, Vermont and was previously the owner a rice farming entity in Arkansas for many years. Jim was a devoted sports enthusiast, and was an enthusiastic Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan after spending several years in his adopted home of New England.

Jim is survived by a son James C. Bailey Jr of Tuckerman, AR, a daughter Susan Bailey of Seattle WA; and his sister Emma of Tuckerman, AR.  Additionally, he is survived by four step children and their spouses of his predeceased wife Pat; Roger Doty Jr of New York City, Elisabeth Cloyd of Newfields, NH, Susanne Navarro of Naples FL, and Eric Doty of Bedford NH; as well as 7 grandchildren, all of  whom he adored.

Jim will be laid to rest at St Francis by the Sea in Hilton Head, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society at their website Cancer.org or Donate3.cancer.org.
