James “Tony” Beauchamp of Oak Hill, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2026, following a courageous 26-month battle with a rare brain cancer.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Tony spent his early years living in Tennessee, Texas, and Kansas. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1973 and attended the University of Kansas, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

In 1983, Tony married Paula Willer, beginning a 43-year marriage that was one of the greatest joys of his life. Together, they built a family and a life filled with love, laughter, friendships, and memories that will be cherished forever.

Tony dedicated 33 years of his career to Praxair Services before retiring. Of all his accomplishments, Tony was proudest of his family. He adored his two daughters, Shelby and Kate, and was eagerly looking forward to becoming a grandfather in November. He was very excited to meet his grandson and often spoke about the joy that new chapter would bring.

Tony was known for his contagious smile and wonderful sense of humor. He loved to laugh and had a way of bringing joy to the people around him. An avid fisherman, Tony loved being on the water and enjoyed the peace and simple pleasure that came with a day of fishing. He was a lifelong Kansas Jayhawk fan and a passionate supporter of KU basketball, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on his team.

Tony will be remembered for his devotion to his family, the friendships he made throughout his life, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. Throughout his battle with cancer, his family and close friends remained by his side, and he was able to spend his final moments at home, surrounded by the people he loved most.

Tony is survived by his wife, Paula; daughters, Shelby and Kate; son-in-law, Matt McCoy; brother, Bill Beauchamp; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Beauchamp. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love, laughter, and memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
