James Brent Anglin, 59, of Wildwood, Florida, a proud U.S. Navy veteran and dedicated international educator, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the Malcom Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida.

Born on April 23, 1966, in Huntington, West Virginia, to James and Kathy Anglin, Brent was known for his insatiable curiosity, adventurous spirit, and deep love of teaching and serving others. After graduating from Paul G. Blazer High School in Ashland, Kentucky, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving honorably from 1985 to 1988, and continuing his service in the reserves until 1993.

In 2005, he relocated to Bangkok, Thailand, and later Zhengzhou, China, where he built a rewarding career as an English teacher, debate team coach, and instructor of conversation and writing courses for Thai corporate executives.

It was during his years in Asia that Brent met and married the love of his life, Maneepaney Wanchuree, a native of Thailand, who became his best friend and lifelong partner.

He is survived by his wife, Maneepaney Wanchuree Anglin; his mother, Katherine Cowden; his sister, Glenda McCoy (David Faughn); his brother, Judson Anglin (Pattie); and his nephews, Owen Anglin and Clark Anglin, and niece, Katherine Faughn.
