James W. "Jim" Brown Jim Brown, age 72, died April 30th, 2016. Jim was born in Syracuse, NY and resided in East Syracuse until 2013 when he moved to The Villages, Florida – AKA "Disneyworld for Adults". He was a graduate of East Syracuse High School in 1961. Jim served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1965 aboard the USS Meredith DD890 as a 2nd Class Petty Officer. He was a past President of East Syracuse Minoa Jaycees. He was a 25-year member of the Dewitt Community Church, where he served 8 years on the Board of Directors and 8 years as Head Usher. Jim was a proud 30-year member of A.A. Jim retired from Niagara Mohawk after 34 years as a Foreman in the Service Department. In retirement, he delivered flowers for 5 years for the Whistle Stop Florist in East Syracuse, NY and drove for American Limousine for 8 years. He rooted for the city of Syracuse sports teams, the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. Jim enjoyed golf, swimming, dancing, reading, traveling the US, and going on cruises. He & his wife Debra spent their 25th wedding anniversary on a cruise in Italy, Sicily, Turkey and Greece. He loved being with his family and friends. Jim Brown is survived by the love of his life, Debra (Mangicaro), with whom he was married for 33 years, his sons Kevin (Tiffany), Scott (Lynda), Keith (Jessy), grandchildren Autumn, Jordan, Jacquie Law (Jon), Allison Chase (Shaun), Peter, Nicholas, Kaitlynn & Abigail; Great-grandchildren Brooklynne, Milania and Madelyn; Sister Nancy Bakken (Dick). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: "Wounded Warrior Project" A private Memorial Service will be held.
