James Newton Chaffee, P.E., born December 12, 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan to parents Newton W. and Alice (nee James) Chaffee.  Passed away peacefully on March 21, 2016.

Mr. Chaffee retired as Asst. Vice President of Science Applications International Corporation.  (S.A.I.C) During his 40 year career he conducted projects in places too numerus to mention in the United States, Europe, South America and the Middle East.  He studied Contract Law and Electrical Engineering at University of Michigan.  He earned his B.S.C.E at Michigan Technological University- Houghton, MI. He also was a member of Army National Guard and Army Reserve for 10 years.

He was well known for being a kind, gentle, honest, well mannered, gentleman.  This was truly Jim.  He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Chaffee is survived by his loving wife Kay Ann; Children, Janice, Jerald (Lauren), James M, Michelle and Melissa; Grandchildren, Daniel, Lauren, Noah, Joshua, Adam, Heather, Jacob and Michael; Sister, Jewell (Richard) Brode and Brother, John (Carol).

He was predeceased by Michael (Debra).

Cremation has taken place with future interment to be at Forest Lawn Cemetery- Saginaw, MI
