James A. Dickbernd of 11592 SW 77th Ave., Ocala, FL passed away peacefully early Monday morning December 4, 2023.

He was born in Old Monroe, MO on May 19, 1932, to Albert and Delphine (Besselman) Dickbernd. He graduated from St, Charles High School in Missouri and married his high school sweetheart June Eilers on April 6, 1953.

He had an accomplished and successful career at McDonnel Douglas (Boeing) for 42 years working as a mechanic on the F4 Phantom and flight inspector of the F15 Eagle fighter jets. He spent 2 years in the United States Army during the Korean War and was also a member of the American Legion.

He was an avid golfer and accomplished every golfer's dream of a hole in one at Oak Run golf course in Ocala, FL.

James is survived by his wife of 70 years June Dickbernd (Eilers), sons Douglas and Gregory, grandsons Troy Douglas (Stacey), Allen Dickbernd (Coral), granddaughter Lauren Douglas, great grandchildren Carter, Adrienne, Kiera, Felix, Taylor, Andrew and Emma. James was preceded in death by his parents and brother Wayne Dickbernd (Eileen).

Funeral services to be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 443 Marion Oaks Drive, Ocala, FL 34473, on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 12:30PM with burial services with Military Honors occurring  at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 10:00AM.
