James " Jimmy", "Eddie" Mitts, was born in Harriman, TN 9/18/1961. He passed away peacefully at his home in Weirsdale, FL on 5/6/24. Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother "Tan" Mary Francis Fritts, father James Mitts, and sister Trula Crocker. Jimmy worked locally in Harriman as a young man, then moved to Atlanta, then Virginia Beach and began his career in Health Physics/Nuclear Physics in the shipyard at Newport News. He and some buddies then traveled doing this type of work, and that is how he met Heidi, and they proceeded to continue to travel and work in this industry for some time. They lived in TN for a short time, then eventually settled in FL. Jimmy began working at Home Depot and remained there for many years before starting a new carrier as a non emergency medical transporter for Eagle Transport and then Leopard Transport of Central Florida. Jimmy enjoyed his work as a transporter and helping people. He had a compassionate heart. He also enjoyed spending time with family & his pets, being outdoors, cooking and canning, and fishing was his favorite outdoor pastime. He was a Christian man at heart, and he has left us peacefully to go be with the Lord. He will be missed but not forgotten. A private gathering is being planned for 6/2024 in FL, and separate gathering being planned for 5/26/24 in TN.
