James Eldon Hosea, 91, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, with his wife, Ginny, by his side. Jim was born in Ellis, Kansas, on June 21, 1935, and was the son of the late Eric C. Hosea and Muriel Sigler Hosea. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Bonnie McKay and Claudia Hosea, and by his step-daughter, Barbara Patterson Porter. He was survived by his wife, Ginny Belford Hosea, step-son, Christopher R. Williams, step-granddaughter, Lauren Elyse Davis, step-great-granddaughter, Vanessa Skye Nixon, brother, Michael Hosea, and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was instrumental in starting Okeechobee Faith Farm, a Christian rehabilitation center for men, where he resided and was employed for many years. He met his wife in 1989 and they married on February 16, 1991, later residing in Palm Bay, Florida, and most recently in Palm Coast, Florida, where he continued to work in the recovery community. Jim was known for his unwavering faith, strength, kindness and deep love of God and his family. He will be remembered as someone who was always willing to contribute his time and support to those in need. No matter where he went, Jim never missed an opportunity to share the love of Jesus, even in the hospital and the nursing home in his last days.
Jim was a member of Salty Church, Flagler Beach, Florida, the Life Center, Bunnell, Florida, Recovery Church Palm Coast, Florida, and Recovery Church Ormond Beach, Florida.
Jim's Celebration of Life will be held at Salty Church, 208 South Sixth Street, Flagler Beach, Florida, on September 26, 2026 at 1 pm. The family requests that donations be made to The Life Center Ministries, (1404 Co. Road 305, Bunnell, FL 32110), Salty Church Flagler Beach (208 South Sixth Street, Flagler Beach, FL 32136, or to Recovery Church Movement (10152 Indiantown Rd. #193, Jupiter, FL 33478) in lieu of flowers.
