James Allen Ward, Jr.

James Allen Ward, Jr., affectionately known as "Jim," passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at 7:22 a.m., at the age of 68, after a long and courageous battle with illness.

Jim was born on August 14, 1957, in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he was raised and spent much of his life. In 2019, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by moving to Bushnell, Florida. He often said that when he retired, he wanted to live in Florida, and true to his word, he made that dream a reality.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army. When the Army began downsizing, he continued his military career with the Army National Guard, faithfully completing 20 years of honorable service. His dedication, sense of duty, and love for his country were qualities that remained with him throughout his life.

Following his military service, Jim enjoyed a career as a truck driver, a profession that suited his independent spirit and strong work ethic. He worked until retiring at the age of 62, looking forward to enjoying the Florida sunshine he had always dreamed about.

Jim will be remembered for his determination, his unwavering commitment to his family and country, and his ability to stay true to the goals he set for himself. Even through years of declining health, he faced life's challenges with resilience and courage.

He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved him.

Jim is survived by his wife Judy ‘Marie’ Ward’, sons Richard Ward & James Ward, step-daughter Sydney White, grandchildren Maiya White, JJ Ward, Lyvia White, Aubrey Ward, Leiya White, Nova White and sister Kathy Murphy, and many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Norma Jean Renner and grandparents Earl & Lillian Sherman.

A Veteran tribute will be held at a later date to be disclosed when date and time has been scheduled, where family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory and the remarkable life he lived.

Though Jim's earthly journey has come to an end, his legacy of service, perseverance, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
