James L. Kinser, age 83, passed away at E.W and Lucille Cates Hospice House in Ocala, FL on April 30th, 2026.

Jim was born in 1942 in Greenback, TN, the son of Olin and Katy (Norton) Kinser. He graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens, TN, with a BA in Business Administration.

Jim’s career was in banking and real estate sales. He was an avid sports fan, a history buff, and a lifetime Tennessee Vols supporter. After moving from TN and then Orlando to Ocala, FL, Jim spent much of his time outside enjoying nature while finding solace in birdwatching and feeding the squirrels.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Carla A. Kinser, Knoxville, TN; his son Christopher L. Kinser and daughter-in-law Lisa T. Kinser, Ocala, FL

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his former wife Joyce D. Kinser of Maryville, TN and his brother, Richard H. Kinser of Loudon, TN.

At Jim’s request, a private memorial service will be held at a later date in TN outside the Great Smoky Mountains at a place where he loved to fish with his dog.
