James Mark “Jimmy” Kinsey, 70, passed away on August 15, 2026, in Largo, Florida. He was born on July 18, 1956, in Woodlawn, Maryland, to Margaret Kinsey and the late Robert Kinsey.

Jimmy spent more than 40 years working in the food sales industry, where he was well respected and loved by the many people he met throughout his career. He was a hard worker throughout his life and took pride in his work and in helping others whenever he could.

Those who knew Jimmy will remember his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He had a natural ability to make people laugh and could bring lightness to a moment with just the right comment. He loved the Baltimore Orioles and had a deep appreciation for music, especially jazz. Jimmy was also a wonderful cook. He took great pleasure in cooking for his family, and his food was loved and enjoyed by everyone fortunate enough to share a meal with him.

In 2022, Jimmy moved from Maryland to Florida to retire and begin a new chapter of his life.

Jimmy is survived by his children, Andrew (Kayla) and Evan (Alyson); grandchildren Austin, son of Evan and Alyson, and McKenna, daughter of Andrew and Kayla; his mother, Margaret Kinsey; siblings Marguerite (Jerome), Raymond (Lorraine), Robert (Joyce), Ann (Tom), and Joan (Brian); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He is also survived by his former wife, Connie Kinsey, with whom he remained good friends after their marriage ended. Their friendship was a testament to the lasting bond they shared and the history they created together.

During his final year, Jimmy was cared for and supported by his good friend Bill Carey, whose friendship and kindness were an important part of Jimmy’s life during that time.

Jimmy will be remembered for his years of hard work, his generosity toward others, his love of music and the Orioles, his joy in cooking for others, and especially for the quick wit and humor that could make people smile and laugh.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Nottingham, Maryland.
