Obituary

Jim La Croix passed away on Friday February 20, 2026, at the age of 66 after battling cancer for the past year and a half. He fought it with bravery and oddly with a sense of humor that you would not believe he was sick.

Jim was born on March 25, 1959, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Eugene R. La Croix and Patricia C. La Croix (Schomisch). Jim graduated St Nicholas Grade School, Custer High School, and Milwaukee Area Technical College with a degree in Instrumentation.

Jim Married his wife Lynne Kellner on May 22, 1988, at Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church (Milwaukee). A marriage that lasted 38 years.

Jim worked at Wisconsin Electric (We Energies) for over 30 years and retired to Cape Coral, Florida.

Jim had a passion for woodworking and produced many home furnishings in his homes and for family. His artistry, attention to detail were a sight to be seen. Jim had a love for the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, Green Bay Packers, and Wisconsin Badgers. Spending the past few summers in Wisconsin eating at supper clubs and drinking IPA beers. Jim may have lived in Florida, but his heart was always in Wisconsin.

Jim is survived by his wife Lynne (Kellner), sisters Maureen (Jack) Heipp, Mary (Dan) Schimidt, and brother Robert (Naomi) La Croix, mother-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by his parents, sister Alice, and brother Michael (Debbie) La Croix.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
