James V. Palmieri , a Vietnam US veteran, died on 22 June 2025 in the care of the Ted and Diane Brandley Hospice House in Marion County, Florida. The youngest son Jim was born to Vincent and Letha Palmieri in Queens, NY on 10 September 1946. He was a hard-working man who, despite the hard edges and flaws, served his country faithfully and loved his family deeply.

Jim is survived by his wife of almost 25 years Laura A Menard; daughter Michelle Palmieri (Army-retired); and her children Aleasha and Janay; son James V. (Laura) Palmieri, Jr.; son Peter Palmieri and his children Stephanie, Ashley, and Lindsay; son Richard (Sarah) Palmieri (USN-retired); his children Shalina and Brettson; William Palmieri and his partner Ms. Karen Hansen; son Michael Palmieri and his children Marlowe, Jensen, and Noble; daughter Jeanne (Andy) Iglehart; daughter Jennifer Spaulding and her children Robert and Aeris; daughter Parker L Berger; son SSG Phillip (Mariah) R. Palmieri; and their daughter Riven; son SFC Nicholas T Palmieri; daughter Rachel Grace Palmieri; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and brothers in arms.

Interment is still to be decided and will be limited to family.
