Obituary

James P. Romand Jr. was born June 1st, 1953 in Albany, New York. He service as a U.S. Army soldier in Vietnam in the First Calvary Division. After being discharged he joined the U.S. Army Reserves and went on to do 4 more tours, and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonial.

He also served for 18 years in the Albany Police department, retiring to come to Florida after being shot while on duty.  His vocation in Florida changed to Real Estate Sales, and he was also a certified Industrial Hygenist.

Jim Romand was well known as a trumpet and brass player, and played with the American Legion Yankee Doodle Band in New York, the Orlando Concert Band and the Post 2093 Community Band here in Central Florida. Jim played "TAPS" at more than 3,000 remembrance ceremonies for veterans during his musical career.

He passed away on June 3 rd at the age of 67 of cardiac arrest. There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony at the VFW Post #2093 at 4444 Edgewater Drive Orlando, FL on Sunday June 28 th at 2pm.
