James G. Stapleton, 81, of Port Orange, Florida, passed peacefully from this life on March 6, 2023 in Daytona Beach, Florida.  James was born on February 25, 1942 in Gainesville, Florida to the late Carl and Virginia Stapleton.

James was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Virginia Stapleton, his sister Ann Parkman and his best friend, Tommie A. Stapleton.

Left to cherish his memory is his son Eric C. Stapleton, his 3 grandchildren and his sister Nancy Atwood.

James spent his professional career working for the Department of Veteran's affairs.  A career he retired from after 33 years of service as Chief of Supply.  Working with the Department of Veteran's Affairs took him from Gainesville, Florida to Washington, D.C., Maine, Boston, Tampa and ultimately Miami.  His favorite aspects of his work were coordinating training efforts throughout the United States concerning ADP, contracting and procurements.

In his spare time James enjoyed car racing, cross country RV'ing, and Florida beaches.  James was a general car nut having owned over 70 cars over the years, but, he was especially enthusiastic about Corvettes. James also served as his Condominium's Board as President as well as the HOA President.
