James Lynn Ulrich, lovingly known as "Jimmy," passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024, in Orlando, FL, at the age of 61. Jimmy was a kind, spiritual, and generous person who had a deep love for his family, especially his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his devoted mother, Elizabeth Ulrich Cantrell; sisters, Carol Ulrich Hempfield and Nancy Jo Ulrich Mannix; brothers-in-law, Mike Hempfield and Mike Mannix, Jr; nieces and nephews, Liza Mannix Jennings (Mike Jennings), Michael Mannix III (Emily Mannix), Amber Hempfield Veniard (Jonathan Veniard), Troy Hempfield (Philippa Mosely), Haley and Savannah Ulrich; and his beloved great-nieces and nephews, Clara, Maisy, Mikey, Charlie, and Amelia Mae. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Lynn Ulrich, and brother, Gary Richard Ulrich.
Jimmy was born on November 20, 1962, in Erie, PA. In 1964, he moved with his family to Orlando, Florida. He attended Azalea Park Elementary and Stonewall Jackson Junior High. Jimmy graduated from Colonial High School in 1981, where he played the trombone in the marching band. After graduation, he worked at Walt Disney World and earned an Associate of Science degree in computer technology.
Jimmy volunteered at Meals on Wheels, delivering food door-to-door in our community for 15 years. Additionally, he devoted his time and talents to First United Methodist Church of Orlando's computer ministry program, providing refurbished computers to missionaries worldwide.
Jimmy was a member of Conway First Baptist Church, where his memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10th at 11 am.
