James W. Martin, 87 formerly of New Smyrna Beach died Monday, August 29, 2011 at Cornerstone Hospice with his family by his side.  Mr. Martin was born October 4, 1923 in Earl Park, Indiana.  He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WW II.  After serving his country Jim worked for General Motors as a Metallurgist for many years.  He and wife retired to Central Florida 1980 and moved to Taveres, FL in 1992 from New Smyrna Beach.  Jim is survived by his loving wife, June; son, Brian Martin; daughter, Jill and son-in-law, Marc Halman; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren and siblings, Clifford Martin and Myrtle Paar.  Services will be held at a later date at the Martin's church.
