James R. Young Sr., known lovingly as Jim, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025. A man of many stories, laughter, and heart, Jim lived his life to the fullest and left behind a legacy of love, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

Jim was an avid fisherman who found joy, peace, and a sense of adventure out on the water. Whether it was casting a line at sunrise or sharing fish tales with family and friends, fishing was one of his greatest passions. But his true pride and joy was his family. A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jim's love knew no bounds. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Known for his infectious laugh and larger-than-life personality, Jim was truly the life of the party. His presence lit up every room he entered, and his friendships ran deep. He never met a stranger—only future friends—and he brought people together with his warmth, humor, and generous spirit.

Jim's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish to honor Jim are encouraged to make a donation to hospice – E.W. & Lucille Cates House , 9505 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL 34481, in recognition of the care and compassion they provided during his final days.

He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered—always fishing, always smiling, always loved.
