Jane Ellen Patterson (née Pause) October 15, 1948 – October 31, 2024
Jane Ellen Patterson passed away in October 2024. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert M. Patterson III, her beloved children: Robert Patterson IV, Craig Patterson (Jennifer), Nicholas Patterson (Laura), and Shelley Patterson. She will be greatly missed by her grandsons Luke and Sam Patterson, step-grandchildren Alex, Nate, Noah, and Abby Hall, as well as her brother James Pause (Sharon), nephews James, Christopher, and Brian Pause, and niece Hope Patterson-Rodriguez.
A long-time resident of Crown Point, Indiana, Jane spent the last decade enjoying retirement in Fort Myers, Florida. She was a dedicated businesswoman, owning Kid Stu[ Clothing in Crown Point and Mom's General Store in Waveland, Indiana. Over the years, she also worked for NIPSCO, Lipays, Crown Point Community Schools, RGT Trucking, and Ely Graham Financial Services. Jane was a proud member of the Delta Chi Sigma Sorority, Beta Iota Chapter, and a 1968 graduate of Crown Point High School.
Jane's life revolved around her family. She raised her children with love and was actively involved in their lives and endeavors. Creative and resourceful, she had a talent for crafting everything from clothing and jewelry to purses, and she took special joy in organizing weddings and events. Her home was always beautifully decorated for each season and holiday. Known for her selflessness, Jane was the person everyone could rely on for help. She found happiness in bringing joy to others.
In her retirement, Jane relished the peaceful life in Fort Myers. This past year, she faced numerous medical challenges with great strength and determination. Now, she is at rest. Her family loves her deeply and will miss her profoundly.
Cremation will be handled by Baldwin Brothers in Fort Myers, with a celebration of life to be held in Crown Point, Indiana, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in her honor be made to the American Diabetes Association or to a charity of your choice.
