Obituary

Janelle Rose (Staley) Evans, lovingly known as “Nana,” passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 76.

Born on August 3, 1949, in Lawrence County, Indiana, Janelle was the daughter of Gilbert and Maxine (Hubbard) Staley. She devoted her life to her family and found her greatest joy in caring for and spending time with those she loved most. Her role as “Nana” was one she treasured deeply and fulfilled with endless love, warmth, and pride.

Janelle enjoyed traveling, crafting, and relaxing on her back porch while working puzzles. She was also a devoted fan of Indiana Hoosiers basketball and rarely missed cheering on her team. Her kind spirit, gentle heart, and unwavering love for family created lasting memories that will be cherished forever.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Evans; her children, Kelly and Gary; her granddaughter, Charlene; her great-granddaughter, Harli Rose; her brother, Jim Staley of Oolitic, Indiana; and her sister, Nancy Stuckey of Fairway, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond and Timothy Staley, and her sisters, Sonia Young and Marilyn Heady.

Memorial arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date. Messages of condolence and stories may be shared with the family at janellerosestaleyevans@gmail.com.

Janelle will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her love and memory will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
