Janet Shields Gardner, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2018.

She was born in New York City and graduated from St Luke's Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.  She was proud of the work she did as a nurse, especially administering polio vaccinations when a vaccine became available in the 1950s to protect people from that dreaded disease. She is remembered by her family as a devoted and loving daughter, mother and wife.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children Carol S Gardner and William E Gardner Jr, sister C Ellen Weller, grandson William E Gardner III, daughter-in-law Michelle Gardner, niece Rebecca Weller and nephew Jeffrey Weller.
